High-Call Locations

Made concentrated service demand visible by tracing a year of calls back to the addresses generating them.

OutcomeThirty addresses generated 10,078 of 94,468 calls for service in 2015, or 10.67% of the annual total.

The problem

System-wide call totals described workload, but they did not show where repeat demand was accumulating or which locations deserved closer review.

What I did

I ranked calls by address, checked the records behind the totals, and reduced a citywide workload problem to a small, understandable set of high-demand locations.

What happened

Leaders had a concrete basis for focusing attention: a very small number of addresses accounted for more than one in ten calls for service.

The evidence

The point, made visible.

The numbers and working sequence provide context for the outcome.
